Guitar Class
This guitar course will be covering the basics of music theory while incorporating guitar playing skills. Students will learn at first the basics of music theory (notation, scales and chords) and a brief history of the guitar and its respective musical styles.

The main objective of this course is for students to start their musical careers and deepen their appreciation for music. They will learn how to read music notation, chord symbols, strumming patterns, a few songs assigned by teacher and some of their own favorite songs!

Cartooning (Learn drawing cartoons from Cartoonist)

In this course, students will learn the techniques for drawing cartoons and comics. Students will receive guidance on drawing cartoon people— they will learn to draw facial expressions to convey a variety of emotions, and they will learn to draw cartoon people in different poses. The course will build up student’s artistic skills and techniques, progressing towards drawing 2-4 panel comics where they can tell their own stories and jokes. No previous art experience is required.

Pencil Drawing

Beginners’ Pencil Drawing: This course will introduce students to the principles, philosophy, and practice of Pencil Drawing. Students will receive basic instruction in composition in order to develop the ability to  accurately draw from sight. In addition to developing practical drafting skills, students will understand the functional concepts and vocabulary essential to art practice, and topics will include perspective, composition, shading, depth, etc. No previous art experience is required.   

Intermediate Pencil Drawing: This course is intended for students who  have a basic understanding of the concepts introduced in Beginners’ Pencil Drawing. Attention will be paid to enhancing the students ability to represent objects in three dimensional space, with increased focus on varied perspective and value. Students will further expand their working knowledge of both artistic theory and practice.

Creative Writing: Character Building and Story Development 

In this class students will learn how to create characters and develop a story. We will work with the characters that will trigger kids’ imagination to create stories. We encourage students to write with their own style and their own voice.

Learning Chess:

Why your child should learn chess: Chess has been persuasively linked with improving children’s concentration, problem-solving, critical, original and creative thinking – and even mathematical abilities. It is also said to help with memory storage and how young brains manage information.

Classes will be conducted in a group setting so children can collectively learn and develop ideas. Sessions will be on Zoom where the instructor will video screen share a digital board for interactive demonstrations and live game play.
