Course Overview

“2D Game Design Exploration – From Idea to Reality” is a specialized course designed for students aged 10-18 who have an interest in game development but are new to the field. This course provides a friendly and approachable introduction to the world of game design, with a specific focus on 2D games. The Course Does not require prior programming knowledge, as it introduces students to the exciting potentials of no-code game development platforms.

No-code game development platforms are powerful tools that democratize the process of game creation. These platforms have opened doors to a wider demographic, allowing individuals who do not know how to code to still participate in and contribute to the digital game community. They are designed with user-friendly interfaces that facilitate creativity, encouraging users to focus more on the design and gameplay experience, without the need to worry about the technical coding details.

In this course, we will delve into the core principles of game design, character animation, and game logic. The majority of the course will be practical hands-on work using various no-code game development platforms. Through this process, students will not only gain a good understanding of how games are made, but they will also get to design, animate, and develop their own 2D games.

In addition to the tangible skills acquired, students will also learn invaluable soft skills such as problem-solving, critical thinking, creativity, and peer review through the game design process. By making use of no-code

platforms, students can focus on expressing their creativity and understanding the principles of game design without getting bogged down in complex programming languages. This approach makes game development more accessible and enjoyable, sparking passion and curiosity in the world of game creation.
